As a part of his inheritance from his parents, my father received an antique wooden bench. This family heirloom is more than two hundred years old. Years ago, this beautiful wooden antique was utilized by a large family during meal times. My father’s ancestors were farmers. After a long day of working in the hot fields, they would gather around this bench and eat a hearty dinner. Because I want to keep this rich story alive, I plan to reupholster the bench. By replacing the worn tattered fabric of the bench with new upholstery, my children will be able to tell their children about the history of this special piece of furniture.
